Specializing in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Dr. Roman Bukachevsky is a facial plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Bukachevsky earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1986. He completed his general surgery internship at Morristown Memorial Hospital in New Jersey, and his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York, where he also served as chief resident. Following medical school, he completed a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. He served as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Otolaryngology at Irvine Medical Center, and as Chief, Division of Otolaryngology at the Long Beach Veterans Administration Medical Center. Since 1992, Dr. Bukachevsky has been in private practice in San Luis Obispo and Templeton, California. In 1997, he established Central Coast Facial Surgery Center, now known as Bukachevsky Center for Facial Rejuvenation, to expand his specialization in aesthetic surgery and minimally invasive procedures. He is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the California Society of Facial Plastic Surgeons, and the American Board of Medical Specialties. As an active participating surgeon in the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery’s “Face-To-Face” program, Dr. Bukachevsky provides pro-bono services to benefit victims of domestic violence. He also has given generously to the Women’s Shelter of San Luis Obispo County, and is a member of the Flying Samaritans International. His personal appreciation of humanity and the arts is apparent in his regular contributions to the performing arts community. Dr. Bukachevsky’s aesthetic sense of beauty, coupled with his surgical expertise, allows him to create subtle improvements in facial rejuvenation for his patients, providing a “natural look and result.” Visual aids such as the Center’s state-of-the-art digital imaging system and before-and-after photographs reinforce communication necessary for Dr. Bukachevsky to make the best recommendations for each patient. His personalized approach to cosmetic surgery not only focuses on the patient’s age, features, and underlying facial structure, but also assesses the patient’s overall health and motivations.
